World’s First Solar Paneled Roadway
World’s First Solar Paneled Roadway :
The first ever photovoltaic road service in the world deployed on the streets of Tourouvre-au-Perche, a 1,000-meter-long solar-paneled roadway in France.
France ultimately aims to pave 1,000 kilometers of solar roads over the next half-decade, supplying renewable energy to 5 million people (close to 10% of the population).
As the energy transition becomes a reality imagine a road able to harvest a solar energy and produce the electricity we so desperately need after five years of research in partnership with the National Institute for solar energy class a world-leading reconstruction that now presents
what way the first of a photovoltaic road service in the world what way provides a local source of clean renewable energy the panels are inserted in the road surface and compare all types of vehicle traffic.
what way supplies electricity for streetlights furniture buildings as well as shops and businesses last but not least what way is also a solution for isolated off-grid areas there is so many applications we can imagine together what way let pave the way to tomorrow energy.
The goal for this first phase is to produce 280 megwatt hours of power per year test the durability of the tech under real-world experimental conditions.
There is a project in in the United States called solar roadways which consists of concrete slabs including at the solar cells class the tempered glass on top of it there is a quite similar project in this around the shoulders on the road to the section on the lunar cycle past was built about one year ago but it is a large concrete slabs which means that in fact your completely rebuilding a road our technology is different in that way that in fact we just played our solar panels on an existing pavement it does not require all that amount of climbing area works.
The first Heidi was generated about 10 years ago and it came from the feeling that in fact the road that looks at the sky for more than a ninety percent of the time so during this ninety percent of time it can collect energy from the Sun we had very good opportunity to work together with the people at the National Institute of solar energy the knowledge that is portable technology how knowledge is how to build roads and we work together to find the the solutions to the several programs.
who we had to face to be able to integrate this technology on top of an existing pavement we have pages and pages of questions what will be there in the group on such a surface which type of materials which should we use which ratio between the the activists Orleans to face and road to FS how could we maintain it how could we recycle and so on we tested several mixes of resins of the glass bird of broken glass and so on to know until we found a good compromise between the replay goal and the light absorption this solar panels will produce electrical energy and the use will be quite similar to the one you could have with traditional PV panels placed on rooftops you can either I connect them to the global electricity network and in that case your rejecting an electricity into the network or in case the more isolated the locations you can simply store the electricity in the in batteries and then use it for example public lightning.
You could even also imagine in a longer term but you could also supply an electricity to our electrical vehicles for example either through traditional practice or even through wireless technologies such as the induction.
The concept of the road try to face two major program of development of solar energy the first program is the lack of surface to produce enough energy and the second program is a front of cost of the systems and when you use a star road of course you take advantage of a large surface of the existing Road so most of the work has been done and you just have to integrate your component on the road.
I can’t to program with four awards the first one comes from the eating of a solar panels because when the temperature of the pronounced increases the efficiency decreases and the aging process are accelerating and the second one is that for the prediction of a solar energy production.
You will have to integrate the traffic Road modeling to be able to pretty accurately the HTC prediction I never interesting parameter to look at is the energy payback time which is a time necessary to produce the same energy that has been used to produce the pronounced so it's a real challenge for engines.
